Co-operative sector in Rajasthan

Rajasthan, as we all know, is a land of culture and heritage.Every part of this state tells a different tradition.Like Panchayatiraj,co-operatives are also have quality institutions and small units working in rural areas.I as a Co-op.bank MD,started NAREGA payments through MINI BANKS  in Dungarpur district on 1st April 2007. Primarily it was a difficult task for me but things settled quite nicely. Now under the leadership of our Principal Secretary Mr.R.K.Meena and Registrar Mr.Mukesh Sharma co-operative sector is doing some exceptional works.Super markets, Mini super markets in villages,Women co-operatives,Mini Banks, quality lending in CCBanks and Primary Land Dev.Banks, action plan for every co-operatives are some of the examples of co-operatives in Rajasthan. To improve PDS in the state,co-operative sector is gearing up for taking the responsibility in rural areas.Rajasthan is the only state where Co-operative fairs are being organised at district, zonal, state and national level. In these fairs all types of co-operative societies displays and sell their quality products.Special 'Masala Mela' are also one of the feature of these 'Sahakar Mela.'

Almost every co-operative society including Coop.Banks PLDB's,Consumer and Marketing societies,Lamps and Pacs have their elected boards. Its a big achievement of this government.Recently, govt amended the rules to implement the recommendations of 'Vaidhyanathan Package'for short term lending institutions.State govt.is trying to provide autonomy for every institution.Soon Rajasthan will be known for its co-operatives and their contribution to the general masses.
